Ministries at St. Dominic Parish

Is everything at St. Dominic a ministry?

We consider all activities at St. Dominic to be a ministry of some kind. While some roles, such as Eucharisitic minister or lector, are traditional ministries, we believe that participating in such activities as directing school traffic, coaching, caring for the flowers on the grounds, etc. are forms of ministry also.

How will I be able to decide what to sign up for?

Our ministry booklet contains a description of the ministries at St. Dominic. Read the descriptions of the ministries that interest you. This will help you gain an understanding of what each ministry entails and how much time you might expect to devote to the activity. Pray about it and see where the Lord leads you.

May I sign up for more than one minstry?

Be a good steward of your time. many parishioners are already involved in more than one ministry. For example, someone could be a lector, a commission member, and a volunteer worker at the festival. The only limitations are your time, openings in the various ministries, and the need to place as many parishioners as possible in ministries in which they have expressed and interest.

What of I am not sure about what I might want to be involved in and just need some information?

Please check the listings in our website or call the parish office for a copy of the Minsitry Guide. In it you will find the ministries and a brief summary of each. You will also find the name and phone number of the person responsible for that ministry. Feel free to call that person for more information which will help you decide if that ministry will match your gifts and talents.

How do I sign up for a ministry for this year?

Fill out one of the"Ministry Commitment" forms found in the back of the booklet or handed out after Mass on Stewardship Sunday (September 23, 2007) and return them to the boxes at the doors of the church or in the collection basket.  The booklets are always available in the Church Office if you need one.
